| | After seeing William Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice, I was strongly moved by what Shylock suffered form in his old life. I wept bitter tears and became grieved. In the movie, the Jews were treated as dogs by those Christians in Venice, in other words, they were seriously insulted and humiliated. Shylock was the stereotype of the Jews, on the contrary, Antonio represented the Christians. The poor old Shylock lost his daughter and his properties. He just gave his vent to Antonio who was the representative of the Christians in Venice. This drama told the conflict between two groups of different religious beliefs. In my opinion, if one does not injure others or harm the society, he or she should have the right to keep the firmness on one's belief. Just treat people equally without discrimination. Then, the world would be harmonious and beautiful as I hope within my heart.
