I know of someone who is in her early 40s. She has been studying for her life and started work only in her late 30s. When she started work, she didn't blend in and worked well with her colleagues or her bosses. She insisted her way is the only way and viewed them as a grade lower / non-sense. But she treated her students with much more kindness. However her marking style is rather strict and doesn't blend well with private school's mgmt.
She went on for other teaching jobs still the same problem surfaces - sometimes same area, sometimes she demanded that she start work half an hour later etc.
She is a lady with some standards that i thought was a torture to me. When i went shopping with her, for one pair of less than 10dollars earrings she would inspect every pair in the shop for 3 hours and end up choosing one that she end up went back to exchange the next day.
She would bring a watch to change battery and demanded some form of repayment if the person scratched the back of the watch slightly.
At home, she doesn't lessen the burden of her sister who is feeding her, one parent who is immobile and one parent who is demanding. In short, she eats off her sister even though she is already in her 40s.
But she is a very happy lady though she has not many friends probably one or two.
Sometimes i wonder if she is really happy or she is just a hermit. :P |
