The Starry Train - Yilan Diu Diu Dang Forest Plaza
The "Diu Diu Dang Forest Plaza" is a project by architecture Huang Sheng-Yuan that presents the deep ties between the railway system and the Yilan county region.
The industrial canopy resembles a forest with a flying train, inspired by the Starry Train from Jimmy's The Starry Starry Night. In the story, the boy and the girl took the forest-bound train to leave all their worries behind and begin a fantastical adventure.
Yilan Railway Station
The trees adorning the Yilan Railway Station seemingly immerse the entire plaza in a forest straight out of The Starry Starry Night. The same forest that the boy and the girl from the story had taken a walk on now embraces the walls with greenery and adds a vibrant energy to the bustling railway station. The station even has a giraffe groundskeeper to welcome all the visitors.
