Overview
A red-maned lion is taking an afternoon nap on the grassland.
Suddenly, a box fell out of the sky and landed squarely on its head. He angrily bites and claws the box to pieces, only to reveal a book contained. The red-maned lion opens the book to see it filled with pictures of animals cuddling with children. He was so repulsed by the pictures that he even barfed. But for some reason, he kept the book. After a while, he clawed it over to read it through again.
Slowly, he was moved by the sights of animals cuddling with children. Gradually, he remembered what happiness felt like.
He wanted a hug too, so he asked every animal he met. But no one wanted to hug him. Suddenly, he remembered a faint memory of being gently hugged long ago by a little boy when he was a cub. The day they parted ways, the boy chased after the truck that took him away.
Surely, he thought to himself, the boy must still be out there hoping to see him again. So the red-maned lion decided to set out on a journey to find that warm and gentle hug in his memories...
