For over a decade, characters and elements from Jimmy's picture books The Starry Starry Night, Turn Left, Turn Right, and Sound of Colors have been a staple of public spaces like the Yilan Railway Station, Diu Diu Dang Forest Plaza, and the old railway staff dormitory. The Jimmy Liao Starry Train that runs under the Diu Diu Dang steel canopy in the shape of a Taiwan crepe myrtle grove is nearing its 10th anniversary since its installation in 2014. There have been minor repair and maintenance over the years, but considering the expenses of removing the facility during typhoons and then re-installing it, as well as the external deterioration caused by birds' nesting, Yilan County Government decided to repair, move, and refurbish the train in 2022. The new Starry Train will feature an enhanced structure with better materials and superior safety. Its passengers will include a larger cast of animals, with a conductor, music band, and singers.
